The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Needs Your Help In Locating The Driver Of A Vehicle That Led Police On A High Speed Chase
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is looking for your help in locating the driver of a truck that lead law enforcement on a chase through Naples, Casco, and Otisfield last (Monday) night.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, a sheriff's deputy tried to stop a pickup for erratic operation on Casco Road in Naples at around 11:40 last night. The driver, who McCausland identified as Michael S. Irving, 49, did not stop and led law enforcement on a chase that reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The chase ended when the driver took the vehicle off road and into the woods. Law enforcement later located the vehicle, but have not been able to locate Irving, a transient who has been seen often in Portland, Old Orchard Beach and Biddeford, McCausland said.
The truck is a 1999 white Dodge Ram with a dark-colored hood and a loud exhaust. There is a cap on the bed of the truck.
