‘The Oogieloves’ Movie is on it’s Way to Setting a Box Office Record for Futility
The new kid flick 'The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure' just might end up having the worst opening weekend of all time. On Wednesday it earned only a $47 average at each theater. It has earned only $448,131 from 2,160 theaters in its debut three-day weekend. That gross yields per theater average of just $207.
The film stars a series of characters with names like Toofie, Zoozie, and Goobie. It co-stars Jamie Pressly, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Toni Braxton and Chloris Leachman. The movie cost $20 million to produce, and another reported $40 million to promote.
According to 'Entertainment Weekly, ' the previous worst opening belonged to 'Delgo,' a 2008 animated film, which earned only $511,920.
