An Augusta man was arrested for stealing several motor vehicles over the past few months. Centralmaine.com reports he is facing six counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and five counts of felony theft.

Skowhegan selectmen approved a public safety facility and the police and fire departments will be housed in the building. According to Centralmaine.com the Skowhegan Police Department has been operating in the basement of the Municipal Building and the town's fire station is over 100 years old.

Road signs for the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument eventually be installed now that  Gov. LePage backed off his in his opposition to the signs.  There is no timetable for the installation according to US News.

There have been a number of wildfires in Maine this spring. The dry grass and lack of moisture can make it easy for any fires to get out of control according to US News. (More from WABI)
