Three Arrests Made In Connection With 2018 Death Of Lewiston Man
Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man following a fight involving "multiple people" on Knox Street in Lewiston in June 2018.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit has arrested three individuals in connection with the death of Donald Giusti The arrests were made this morning (April 11), with the assistance of the Lewiston Police Department and Maine State Police-Troop F in Houlton.
According to McCausland, a 17-year-old male from Lewiston has been arrested and charged with manslaughter and will be transported to the Long Creek Correctional Facility in South Portland. The teenager was located in Limestone this morning by Troopers assigned to Troop F in Aroostook County, McCausland said. He is expected to make his first court appearance in Lewiston District Court on Friday at 1 p.m.
McCausland said a 13-year-old male from Lewiston, has also been arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and also transported to the Long Creek Correctional Facility. The teenager is expected to make his first court appearance in Lewiston District Court today at 1 p.m.
McCausland added that Pierre Mousafiri, 23, of Lewiston, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and transported to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. Mousafiri’s arraignment date is set for June 12th at Lewiston District Court pending release on bail, McCausland said.
The arrests are the result of several months of investigation, which included multiple interviews, a thorough review of physical and electronic evidence seized in the case and after consulting with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, Androscoggin District Attorney’s Office and the Juvenile Corrections Office, McCausland said.
