Two Maine Teen Brothers Found Dead in River on Sunday
Two 17-year-old boys, and brothers, were found dead on Sunday according to an article from WGME 13.
The news station is reporting Monday morning that officials received a call at about 11pm on Sunday night about a report of two missing juveniles.
Reports indicate that the two brothers, 17, had gone swimming at Holdsworth Park recreation area in the town of Springvale, Maine. The recreation area is located on the shores of the Mousam River.
Following the call about the missing pair, officials responded to the area of their last known location to begin a search.
Sadly, that search resulted in the discovery of both boys' bodies in the river. The bodies were then recovered from the Mousam River, according to WGME 13.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing as crews work to determine what led to the boys passing away at the swimming area.
It's important to note that police that are working the scene told WGME that they do NOT believe that foul play was involved in the deaths.
We will continue to keep this story updated as more information is made available to us regarding the results of the ongoing investigation.
Out hearts go out to the family and friends of the two teenage boys during this incredibly difficult time.
