Two Men Arrested in Rockland Storage Unit Burglary Investigation

A Rockport man who was already on probation for a felony theft conviction is facing several new charges after police say he burglarized multiple storage units in Rockland.

Police arrested 31-year-old Tyler Fogg on Tuesday following an investigation into a series of storage-unit burglaries reported on July 8.

According to police, investigators identified a person of interest during the early stages of the case. That individual was later located with a vehicle that had reportedly been stolen.

The following day, police executed a search warrant as part of the investigation. Officers say they recovered several items believed to have been taken during the storage-unit burglaries, WGME reported.

Fogg was later taken into custody and charged with burglary, criminal trespass and falsifying physical evidence.

According to WGME, Fogg was on probation at the time of his arrest for a previous felony theft conviction. Authorities have not released additional details about that earlier case or explained whether the new charges could result in a probation violation.

A second man, 45-year-old Robert Hamilton, was also arrested in connection with the investigation. Police did not immediately provide a full list of the charges Hamilton is facing or describe his alleged role in the burglaries, the news station reported.

Investigators have also not said how many storage units were targeted, what specific items were stolen or how much the stolen property was worth.

The case remains under investigation, and additional charges could be filed as police continue reviewing the evidence and working to determine whether any other people may have been involved.
