Halloween season is officially getting underway in Augusta as the United Volunteers of Maine Haunted House prepares to open its doors for another year.

The 2026 haunt season begins Friday, October 2nd, at 13 Marketplace Drive in Augusta, with a special opening-weekend ticket price of just $15 per person on October 2nd and 3rd.

After opening weekend, the haunted house will continue every Friday and Saturday throughout October, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and remaining open until 9 p.m. or until the final paying guest has made it through.

The attraction will also be open for a special three-night run during Halloween week on Thursday, October 29th, Friday, October 30th, and Saturday, October 31st.

Organizers say guests can expect plenty of new scares this year, including several brand-new rooms and surprises throughout the haunted house.

For younger kids or anyone who wants the Halloween fun without the scares, the popular UVM No-Scare Haunted House is also returning for 2026.

The no-scare version will be held October 17th, 24th and 31st from 3 to 5 p.m. Activities will include face painting, cookie decorating, trick-or-treating through the haunted house, games and balloon creations from Tickles the Clown.

The full haunted attraction will then reopen those evenings at 7 p.m.

Opening weekend is October 2nd and 3rd, with the discounted $15 admission available only on those two nights.
