State Police today charged a Unity man with possession of child pornography.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman, Steve McCausland, members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Homeland Security searched the apartment of Scott Tedesco, 57, at 596B Albion Road this morning.

McCausland said troopers seized a tablet and an initial search of it revealed dozens of sexually explicit images of children under the age of 12.

According to McCausland, Tedesco was arrested at his work in Pittsfield without incident and transported to the Waldo County Jail.  He is charged with one count of possession of sexually explicit materials. An extensive search of the contents of Tedesco’s tablet will now the place by analysts at the computer crime unit.  Tedesco was being held this afternoon in lieu of $500 bail. If he posts bail, Tedesco is to have no contact with any child under the age of 16, and he is prohibited from having access to the internet, McCausland said
