Watchful Mainers Bring Fugitives To Justice
Last month we reported two convicted sex offenders ducked out on probation and were on the run, guess what they have been caught! According to The Franklin County sheriff's Facebook page, Sean Batchelder and Steven Peterson were apprehended after being spotted by couples in two separate households. Those were the vigilant Mainers who alerted authorities to the presence in their neighborhood.
At the end of the search, they were both found not living in someone's campsite that may have been shut down for the summer but in the Woods. (which was assumed)
The Men were found living in the woods
Flashing back to a wjbq.com story that ran last month
"Batchelder was released early from a 10-year prison sentence were, in 2012, he was given that time for the crime of gross sexual assault."
I think it's needless to say that because of watchful Mainers these men are off the streets, tonight we can sleep a little bit safer.
