FBI and York County Deputies Swarm Maine Property During Investigation
A large law enforcement presence was reported on Main Street in Waterboro on Wednesday as the York County Sheriff’s Office carried out a joint operation with the FBI.
According to WGME, officials say the activity is connected to an ongoing investigation. Authorities emphasized that there is no threat to public safety at this time.
Multiple law enforcement vehicles and personnel from both the FBI and the York County Sheriff’s Office were seen outside a home located at 795 Main Street throughout the day.
According to property records on Zillow, the address is listed as a three-bedroom single-family home, though it is unclear who currently lives at the residence.
During the investigation, officers set up three large tents along the side of the property facing the road, partially shielding activity from public view. FBI agents were also observed examining a storage unit located in the driveway, taking photographs and documenting items, WGME reported.
Authorities were seen entering and exiting the home as the investigation continued. At one point, several personnel wearing white hazmat suits were spotted working on the property.
The York County Sheriff’s Office says additional information will be released when possible, but officials indicated that more details are not expected to be available this week.
