Waterville Restaurant Fights Childhood Food Insecurity
According to the KJ, Proper Pig owners Bill Mitchell and Fred Ouellette have started a fundraiser to help an Alfond Youth & Community Center meal program.
From 3 to 7 PM Thursday through Sunday, they are offering a series of $5 menu items. A portion of the money from those items will be donated to the meal program.
The new meal program, launched last week, is aimed at feeding families who have had financial issues related to the coronavirus outbreak. The program distributes 1000 meals a day and costs $25,000 per week to run.
Additionally, Bill Mitchell's GHM Insurance will match any money raised by the fundraiser, up to $1,000.
