Granting Wishes with Make-a-Wish Maine

I have been working with the Brewer Kiwanis club for eight years now for their annual Wishing Under the Stars Gala for Make-a-Wish Maine.

The entire objective of the Kiwanis organization is, in a nutshell, to help kids. And that's exactly what they do. Just in the last eight years, the Brewer Kiwanis, with the help of local business sponsors, have raised more than a quarter million dollars for Maine's Make-a-Wish chapter. That's dozens and dozens of wishes granted!

This year was no let down, at the gala, they presented a check of over $40,000.00! All of which stays here to grant Maine wishes- Wow! The gala consists of a silent auction, live auction, liquor raffle, candy buffet and amazing entertainment.

While there this year, we got to witness a young girl and her brother, both with cystic fibrosis, get each of their wishes granted respectively. She wanted to go on a European cruise, and he wanted to go Hawaii. I managed to capture the party of flags and leis that occurred just after they announced the granting of the wish! Because there is music in the video, Facebook has muted it- but you still get the idea!
