The wrap on my 2016 Farmers' Almanac this year reads: "Snownado 2, Winter Deja Vu?" At least there's a question mark at the end which, to my, signifies that there is some question in the mind of the Almanac's prognosticator, identified only as "Caleb Weatherbee."

The Farmers' Almanac editor, Peter Geiger, will join us for a brief visit on Friday morning to tell us what the heck is up. The Almanac has an uncanny record of being correct on the general forecast for the seasons. That should be unsettling to you if you thought last winter was harsh. I know I did.

So, in addition to the weather predictions, the Farmers' Almanac is full of cool things. Here are some examples....

* 8 Facts about cucumbers you may not know: For example, cukes are actually a fruit, not a vegetable. I did not know that.

* Top tips for healthier dogs

* Facts about bats

* Brain teasers and riddles

* Philosofacts: For example, "The eyes believe themselves; the ears believe other people" and "Every time history repeats itself, the price goes up"

You can pick up your Farmers' Almanac at many places including Reny's and Hannaford. Peter will join us for our annual Halloween show in October, during which he'll give out his secret password for BIG candy at his house on Brentwood Drive in Lewiston.
