A big 'tip of the Moose antlers' to our latest 'Hometown Hero' powered by HS Builders and the Red Barn.

Richard Jandreau

Fire Chief

Sidney Fire Department

Not only is Richard my daily bus driver, he is the fire chief of Sidney. While on our daily route through town dropping students off, he saw an elderly gentlemen laying face up in his cement driveway. We stopped the bus and he asked me for my help. As it is policy for Richard to stay in the bus, I jumped off and ran to help the man. Richard coached me through helping the man, learning his name and if he needed help. Richard called for the rescue and another bus while I stayed with the elderly man. Once the EMTs arrived we stayed with them long enough to ensure he was okay and then we left. All in all he is a hero because even though he wasn't on duty, he still did the best he could to help out a member of our community who made have had other complications had we not stopped to help.
