Anna Kendrick, who grew up in Maine and went to Deering High School, is now showing off her vocal talents in the upcoming movie ‘Pitch Perfect,’ and now fans can see the 27-year-old star perform a mashup of Bruno Mars‘ ‘Just the Way You Are’ and Nelly‘s ‘Just a Dream.’

Kendrick leads the all-female group the Bellas, as they take on the two hit songs. We see Brittany Snow taking the lead on Mars’ track, and Kendrick cutting in with a harmonious verse from Nelly’s smash 2010 single. Kendrick’s career is rooted in musical theater (hello, she was nominated for a Tony in 1998), so it’s no surprise that she’s spot on as the reluctant a cappella singer Beca. The film follows the college freshman and her choral group who are pitted against an all-male group called the Treble Makers. With a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, this Gleek-worthy film is sure to be a hit.

According to MTV, the soundtrack for the movie is jam-packed with hits, including David Guetta and Sia‘s ‘Titanium.’ A trailer for the feature highlights tunes like ‘You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)’ by Dead or Alive; ‘The Sign’ by Ace of Base; ‘Mickey’ by Toni Basil and Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity.’

Kendrick and Snow also share the screen with Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine, Freddie Stroma, John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks. ‘Pitch Perfect’ arrives in theaters on Oct. 5. 2012.
