Cars That Drive Themselves are Close to Reality

They are not exactly the flying cars of the Jetsons, but they may be better! After all George Jetson still had to fly the car.  The cars that are in the works do the work for you. We already have seen this in cars that help you park. Now, some experts feel that robo-cars will account for up to 75 percent of vehicles on the road by the year 2040!

That could mean the end of things like traffic signs and lights, and make even having a driver’s license a thing of the past. A number of car manufactures have been working on this. Google has been doing tests with its mapping systems and cars. There is technology that is being worked on so cars communicate with each other on the roads. All of this could mean safer travel on the road, more fuel efficiency and less traffic problems. It all sounds cool to me. The biggest obstacle may be just getting drivers to let go of the wheel.
