This show has taught me the most.  It is a conversation about how domestic violence effects the kids.  Even if the children are NOT directly involved in the verbal or physical abuse...it effects them. Even if they are little babies in the crib in the other room...it effects them!  Even if the baby is in the womb...it effects them!!  AND here is big thing I learned...the younger the child is when exposed to the abuse the deeper the impact can be!!!!

Are You Afraid to Go to Downtown Augusta? Don’t Answer This Question Unless You Have Something Non-Insulting to Say!

Having been in Augusta radio broadcasting most of my adult life, I've heard it all..."Armpit," "Disgusta," you name it. Frankly I'm tired of it as I have been here long enough to see this city grow from a little less desirable area to thrive to something I'm quite proud to be involved with. I'm talking about the whole city, from the council, the mayor and manager, to citizens who actually take pride in where they live rather than pot shots.

Waterville’s Dr. Charlie Ruff Talks with Jon and Mac about Sleep Apnea [Audio]

Dr. Charlie Ruff runs Smiles for Maine Orthodonticsand has a very successful practice. Mac Dickson and I were very surprised to hear that he'd read our separate articles on sleep apnea and wanted to come talk with us saying he had a solution that is helpful to some sufferers.

Listen to this very interesting talk we had with Dr. Ruff. You'll hear the symptoms and causes along with a few post-diagnosis solutions.

Augusta Food Bank in Need of Canned Tuna

Well, the Augusta Food Bank has a need for canned tuna fish. The Augusta Food Bank serves families in Augusta and Manchester. The need grows every month. But the thing is, it is so easy to help. Pick up a extra can or two (or ten!) and drop it off sometime soon. Heck, you bring it to me at the radio station and I will get it to the AFB! While you are at it maybe a jar of peanut butter too. They can always use that!

Lazy Susan on Jon's deck table

There Was Glass Everywhere and it’s All Jon’s Fault!

Marie-Anne asked me on Thursday if I thought we should take the umbrella on the deck table down. I said, "nahhh, it's suppose to be rainy, not windy."

My first red flag should have been the storm's name...HURRICANE Arthur. The phrase, "nahhh, it's suppose to be rainy not windy" keeps playing back in my mind like an echoy voice from a horror movie.
