March 6, 2013 It was a happy ending to the search for a missing teenager on Sugarloaf this week. Maine wardens say a 17-year-old skier who was found alive and well at Maine's Sugarloaf ski resort survived two nights in the wild by building a snow cave for shelter while walking toward the sound of snowmobiles during the day. Clever kid.

March 5, 2013 Lawmakers who support an effort to bring edible landscaping to historic Capitol Park in Augusta said it will help ease hunger, raise awareness of the importance of agriculture and show support for local farmers.
March 5, 2013 Parents were scared as word spread about a lockdown at Mill Stream Elementary School in Norridgewock, Monday March 4th. Over 100 parents crowded around a police perimeter and waited to hear news from inside the school.
March 4, 2013 OK, maybe I chuckled when I read this, but for whoever is responsible I’m sure there will be punishment of some kind if they’re caught. There was no school today in Lisbon because someone or some people let the air out of the tires on the school buses. There were 23 flattened tires on the 15 school buses.
March 3, 2013 NOTHING makes me happier than the innocence of children, their honest interpretation of the world around them (and the people in it), their willingness to learn new things and eagerness to share what they know. Suddenly, I want to be a school teacher of pre-K through second grade. It's kind of ironic that, in my career field, I often act the age of those I want to teach. They'd be more my peers than my students. But, I digress.

March 2, 2013 I love learning about new things about the good things that go on in our communities. Here is an AWESOME program. Watch D.O.G.S.! D.O.G.S. stands for ‘Dads Of Great Students’. I had the chance to talk with Chris Rhoda and his daughter Emma and Cathy Gordon, the principal of the Belgrade Central School. Belgrade Central School was the first school in Maine to have a Watch D.O.G.S. program.
