Harpswell Lobster Boat Sinks, 90-Year-Old Captain Swims to Safety
Philip Tuttle is a Harpswell Lobsterman who has been at it a long time and shows no sign of slowing down. He's 90-years-old and just survived a sinking ship. Well, a sinking lobster boat...
Last Saturday, his boat, the Queen Tut, hit rocks and started taking on water causing Philip to have to have to abandon ship in choppy, 50 degree water, thanks to remnants of tropical storm Andrea. After a 30-or-so yard swim to Hen Island, he was found, near hypothermia with a few cuts and bruises, and driven to a hospital in Brunswick.
Once the boat is repaired, Philip says he'll get back to lobstering.
