Longtime leader and grandson of L.L. Bean founder, Leon Gorman, passed away Thursday at the age of 80. For the first time in many years, L.L Bean stores in Freeport will close its doors on Sunday, September 13th, according to WGME, for the memorial service. This is uncommon for L.L Bean to do. The store has voluntarily closed two times before, for the deaths of L.L Bean and John F. Kennedy.
