It was a tragic scene in a small Maine town on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in the death of an 11-year-old Maine boy.

According to an article published by WGME 13, the 11-year-old boy, from Sangerville, Maine, was out helping an area neighbor with chores around the house. Following the completion of his chores, the young boy decided to go for a ride on his ATV.

After not returning, people went looking for the boy where he was eventually found unresponsive underneath his ATV. WGME reports that a neighbor and Sheriff's Deputy attempted life-saving measures, but the child passed away at the scene.

The news station went on to explain that at this time the Maine Warden Service is handling the investigation of the incident.

As of Thursday morning, there were no details available as to what may have caused the crash, whether or not the young boy was wearing a helmet, or what the child's identity/name is.

This is an ongoing story and an ongoing investigation and we will keep the details surrounding the tragedy updated as more information becomes available to us.

Our hearts, thoughts and prayers all go out to the young man's friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
