Over the last couple of weeks my wife and I have noticed very loud 'BOOM' sounds happening in Windsor. These sounds, often very loud, seem to only happen in the evening and at night. The most recent one happened this past Saturday at around 11:30 at night and shook our house. We just couldn't figure it out.

Well, according to News Center's Ryan Breton, we were actually hearing ice quakes. These ice quakes happen when temperatures rapidly go from above freezing to below zero. It causes rapid expansion of the water and ice, thus causing incredibly loud 'explosion' noises.

Listen to how it all went down on this morning's Moose Morning Show.
