When one door closes, another awesome door opens.

Mechanic Falls, you are now the proud home of Daddy O's second diner location! Back in April, they announced that most people had guessed was happening. Eggceptional, which had been in Mechanic Falls for years, had closed in February, and Daddy O's thought it would make a fine second location to their first one in Oxford.

The Sun Journal reported that the second location of Daddy O’s is almost ready to open its doors at 5 Pigeon Hill Road/Route 26 in Mechanic Falls. The official opening date is "very soon". The owners, Aaron and Amanda Ouellette, have spent the past four months renovating the former Egg-ceptional restaurant that closed in February.

The story of how Daddy O’s came to be back in 2008, is very sweet and very Maine. Amanda Ouellette said being a stay-at-home mom drove her 'crazy', so they opened a restaurant. I mean, because if you are going crazy, the restaurant business is the perfect next step. Well, those kids are all grown and out of the house, so they decided to add to their restaurant family and open up a second location. Yup, they're nuts.

They are hugely popular for a few reasons, the giant breakfast menu with over 50 items and a lunch menu that's just as popular. I love that you can get the Lewiston Lobster at Daddy O's. No, it's not a lobster caught in Lewiston. It's a red snapper hot dog on a toasted bun. Love that. You can expect that kind of menu and diner atmosphere in Mechanic Falls, too.

Daddy O’s in McFalls (that's how they distinguish the new location on Facebook) will still give back. Both locations will have a small 'take what you need, give what you can' food pantry in the front. They are also planning community fundraisers for Special Olympics, local food banks, and other nonprofit organizations. Welcome to Mechanic Falls (McFalls), Daddy O's! We can't wait to celebrate your third location!
