I wonder if the first words Reed Adams heard were, "Welcome to Oakland?"

At around five on Thursday morning, Heather Adams' water broke and she slumped at the front door of her Oakland home with husband Glenn by her side.  No doubt about it, little yet-to-be born Reed wanted out.  Now!....

31-year-old Glenn called 9-1-1 and talked with Waterville dispatcher Sarah Bailey who kept things calm and coached him through the whole process, up to and including the delivery of Reed.  According to Sarah, he followed directions well, even tying the baby's umbilical cord off with a shoestring

According to an article in The Morning Sentinel, mom and baby are doing well.  So is dad and the couple's two daughters.

Congratulations Heather and Glenn!
