The driver says that a pedestrian on Pierce Street opened fire on their vehicle causing them to drive off the road and crash, according to the news station.

Fortunately, the driver was not struck by any of the rogue gunfire, WGME reported, though they did receive some injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

At this time, police do not have a suspect in custody, though they are asking for the public's help in the matter.

Lewiston police said that as of Monday morning, they are looking for a male suspect, but don't have much else to go on, according to WGME.

If there was anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting and witnessed a fleeing suspect, you're asked to please reach out to the police department so that they can better identify who may have been responsible for Saturday night's shooting.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Lewiston Police Department at (207) 513-3001.
