Someone Won $730 Million Last Night in The Powerball Drawing
You know how when the jackpot gets huge and people start going crazy buying tickets every drawing day? Yeah, I turn into that guy, too. Well, on my way to work today I was listening to my New England news podcast and they announced that, in fact, someone had won the $730 million Powerball jackpot earlier in the evening.
Holy crap! I anxiously await for them to announce that the winning ticket had been sold in Maine. Not just in Maine, but in Windsor Maine! Not just in Windsor Maine, but at Rideout's Market & Grill! Not just Rideout's Market & Grill, but to Matt James himself! Yeah, well if that had happened I can assure you that I wouldn't be sitting here at 5 AM writing this article about it. ha!
In all seriousness, someone did actually win the Powerball last night, and that person purchased their winning ticket in Maryland. As far as we know there was only one jackpot winner which means they'll lay full claim to the nearly 3/4 of a billion dollars. But after taxes they'll probably still have to work part time.
