The last cold spell like the one we're currently experiencing was just a couple years ago. I remember that a listener called the Moose Morning Show and told us about an experiment their child had tried. They said that if you throw hot water in the air it would turn to snow. So, we thought, "What the heck. Let's try it!"
Sometimes when I look outside on a cold winter day like today, when the temperature is hovering somewhere around 2 or 3 degrees above zero, I miss being out in the middle of the northern Maine woods, bundled up and cruising along the countryside enjoying the beauty of nature. Seeing nature from the inside, rather than observing from the perimeter, is something I really enjoyed about being on a sled. I was in the middle of a place I'd never be without motorized transport.
I HATE being cold. But I can do OK if my feet are warm. If my feet and hands are warm, I am even better. With the cold winter temperatures and heat costing so much I look for other ways to not be so uncomfortable.
Oh boy here we go, my first sickness of the winter season. At some point this evening, I started getting a bit light headed and didn't think much about it, but then on my drive home it hit, the shivers. Can't believe it's the weekend and here I am getting sick.
