cold

Well, the nights have been pretty chilly since early/mid August and now, although I love the crisp weather, I don't like what it ushers in. I don't like putting away and winterizing the boat and camper. I used the boat four times and didn't spend a single night in the camper. Soon, they'll both covered in a blanket of snow and ice....for almost 9 months! YIKES! That's a long freakin' time! Re

Sometimes when I look outside on a cold winter day like today, when the temperature is hovering somewhere around 2 or 3 degrees above zero, I miss being out in the middle of the northern Maine woods, bundled up and cruising along the countryside enjoying the beauty of nature. I HATE being cold. But I can do OK if my feet are warm. If my feet and hands are warm, I am even better. With the cold winter temperatures and heat costing so much I look for other ways to not be so uncomfortable.

Oh boy here we go, my first sickness of the winter season. At some point this evening, I started getting a bit light headed and didn't think much about it, but then on my drive home it hit, the shivers. Can't believe it's the weekend and here I am getting sick.
