On Tuesday, Usher's young son Usher V nearly drowned when his arm got stuck in a pool drain, requiring four adults just to get him out of the water. The 5-year-old is okay now, and his dad has issued a grateful public "thank you" to the people who saved the little boy's life.

Young Usher V got stuck trying to get a toy out of the pool drain, and after the singer's aunt and housekeeper couldn't free the boy, two contractors who happened to be on-site dove in, pulled him out, and performed CPR.

"I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering," Usher, who wasn't home when the near-tragedy occurred, wrote. "I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family's well-being."

"I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."

While Usher's son is recovering nicely, it's not the end of the story. The boy's mother, Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster (who lost primary custody of the former couple's two sons last year), says her kids are in danger and filed paperwork for an emergency hearing to request sole custody.
