Wow, finally we’re out of the ‘Polar Vortex’! A warmer weather trend is coming in starting tomorrow. Highs will be in the low 40s tomorrow through next week. Rather excited to see the cold leave for a number of reasons, first and foremost is the heating cost.

I kid you not I think my furnace was running more than it wasn’t over the past couple of weeks. With that, have you had to sacrifice to pay for oil? Set the the thermostat slightly lower?

We filled our tank on December 16th and less than a month later we’re at ¼ of a tank left and it’s time to talk about calling for a delivery. Granted our oil tank is small and only holds 250 gallons but still our furnace was thirsty during the 'Polar Vortex'. It's an older furnace, with old windows and thin insulation which I know are all culprits but in time we’re going tighten up the house and someday switch to natural gas.

Did you change how you went about your life? Do less, do more? The cold has affected me in other ways too, for example, what it has done to my hands, every line is white. Thankfully it is in the past, but that’s my story about the cold, how about yours.

To recoup some of that oil that may have been used when it was -27, we’re giving away $250 worth of heating fuel. To win, all you have to do is listen live to the Moose on-line starting on Monday January 13th.

Lastly, to celebrate the cold leaving I’ve attached a few songs that relate to the season and temperatures.
