Do Adults Still Dress Up?

Dressing up for Halloween is so much fun, whether you're 5 or 50. But, especially for adults, it can get pretty pricey. This is the second year that my husband and I are dressing up for a Halloween gathering at his Mom's house. Last year, we had some fun with makeup, with me dressing up as a witch, and him just going crazy with the makeup. We finally decided he was a demented rocker.

What Do I Do If I Can't Find My Costume or Can't Afford One?

This year, I wanted to get a little more creative and have some fun with my costume. But, as I previously mentioned, that can cost some serious money, especially if you're going for a popular character like one of the Hocus Pocus Sanderson sisters. I stopped by a local store and found a whole section devoted to that movie. Not only were the costumes a little costly but they were also sold out.

Back to the drawing board. I sat down and started making a list of some easy-to-make costumes, for women and men, that won't cost a fortune. As a matter of fact, many of the items needed for these costumes are likely items you'll find in your own (or your spouse's) closet. With a few simple accessories, you can go with a classic character or a pop culture icon.

I haven't decided how I'm going to dress for the party, but these suggestions are giving me some great ideas. Happy Halloween!
