A standoff in Windsor with the Maine State Police and an armed man ended late Wed. night (Feb. 17) with no injuries.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland, the man was taken into custody, about five hours after police responded to reports of a man who was armed and despondent.

According to centralmaine.com, police did not identify the 36-year old man, who was in an apartment building across Route 32 from Hussey's. Several people in nearby apartments were evacuated during the standoff.

After taken into custody, the man, who was taken to MaineGeneral in Augusta for evaluation.
