Augusta’s Lithgow Library Chooses ‘Life Among Giants’ for ‘A Capital Read’
Award-winning novelist Bill Roorbach will be visiting the Lithgow Library in Augusta this fall as apart of a month-long series of events, part of the annual 'A Capital Read.' It's a community wide reading project encouraging all to take part in reading the book and taking part in the planned activities.
Roorbach’s 'Life Among Giants' is the chosen book this year. The novel follows the story of a young man’s quest to unravel the mystery surrounding his parents’ deaths. It won the 2013 Maine Literary Award for fiction, and HBO is developing a multi-year series based on the novel.
Roorbach will take part in an informal book group at 12 noon Thursday, Oct. 23, at Lithgow Library. Later that evening at 7 pm, he will speak at Bangor Savings Bank at Senator Way, off Western Avenue. He will greet readers and sign copies of his books.
