Let's be real, we have had a very mild fall and early winter.  Other than one decent-sized storm last week, we really have not had a lot of cold weather or snow.

Now, it looks like we could be in for a "heatwave" on Christmas day!

According to the National Weather Service, on Christmas Eve we can expect rain and a high of 49 degrees.  It looks like Santa Claus will have to deal with rain and a low of 45 degrees as he delivers gifts to the good boys and girls of Central Maine.  And, on Christmas Day, we can expect showers and a high of 53 degrees.

One of the concerns about the rain and melting is the potential for flooding.  At this point, however, there have been no flood watches or flood warnings announced.

The forecasts for Southern Maine and the mid-coast region look very similar to the Central Maine forecast.

Following Christmas Day, it looks as though we'll return to more seasonable temperatures.

Obviously, whatever your plans are for the Christmas Holiday, please be safe.
