Auburn, Maine Schools Pull All Buses Off The Road Immediately

According to WMTW News 8, Auburn School parents were notified by the Superintendent's Office that for (at least) the next two days, Feb 9th & 10th, parents will be responsible for transporting their own kids to and from school.

The reason for the sudden change in school transportation is that all Auburn School buses have been temporarily removed from service. Citing an issue with the buses current inspection status, the buses will have issues corrected by Allegiance Auto in Auburn. WMTW indicated that the school previously was using Lance's Auto & Truck Repair in Monmouth.

According to WMTW News 8, the school was informed by the Maine State Police that all the buses have not been properly inspected and need to be removed from service. The only options were for parents to drive their students to school for the next couple of days or switch to full remote learning. The Superintendent's Office decided that remote learning was not in the best interest of the students.

Students who are unable to make it to school over the next couple of days will have an excused absence according to Superintendent, Cornelia Brown.
