Auburn Mall To Become Vaccination Site
It appears that the pandemic will be responsible for breathing new life into the largely-empty Auburn Mall.
According to WMTW, the Auburn Mall will host the area's first non-medical facility vaccination site.
Starting Wednesday, March 17th, the mall will begin vaccinating Mainers. It will operate between 3 and 5 days per week. The plan is for it to be in operation for approximately the next six months. At its peak, it should be capable of inoculating 1,000 people per day.
Vaccinations will take place at the mall's center court. When people arrive to get their vaccinations, they will enter through the building's south entrance, which offers a straight path to the center court.
As with other vaccination sites, the Auburn Mall site will vaccinate people based on their age. For example, starting Wednesday, those 60 and older will be able to get their first shot.

Additionally, it was announced today (March 2nd) that 35 Maine Hannaford grocery stories would begin vaccinating people next week.
The Auburn Mall joins other vaccination sites like Scarborough Downs, the Augusta Civic Center, and the Cross Insurance Center.
