Auburn Ruby Tuesday Comes Down To Make Way For Olive Garden
According to a post done by the Lewiston Sun Journal, Auburn is one step closer to getting an Olive Garden Restaurant.
On Monday, crews from St. Laurent & Sons Excavation started the process of demolishing the old Ruby Tuesday location on Turner Street in Auburn. Once the building has been demo'd and the lot has been cleared, construction will begin on a new 6,600 square foot building that will house the new casual Italian chain restaurant.
While there has been no announcement of when the new restaurant will open, it will probably be toward the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
Original story follows...
While some people complain that it is not real "authentic" Italian cuisine, there is no denying that The Olive Garden restaurant chain is incredibly popular. Between the stereotypical dishes like spaghetti & meatballs and chicken parm, and their signature meals like the braised beef and tortelloni, there is something for everyone.
Well, it looks like Maine will be getting another Olive Garden location.
According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, Auburn will soon have an Olive Garden location!
On Tuesday, the city planning board approved the chain's plan to open a location at 649 Turner Street in Auburn. That plot of land is currently home to a closed Ruby Tuesday location. However, the restaurant will not be in the old Ruby Tuesday building. That building will be demolished to make way for a much larger 6,600 square foot building that will house the Olive Garden.
Clearly, with so much to do, there is no word on exactly when we will see the new location open. Hopefully, it will be sometime toward the end of 2022.
