According to the Kennebec Journal, both Walmart and Sam's Club in Augusta are beginning to roll out COVID-19 vaccine appointments. This comes on the heels of an announcement by Maine DHHS Commissioner, Jeanne Lambrew, in which she said that all 22 Walmart locations and both Sam's Club locations in Maine would begin doing the same thing.

Walmart and Sam's Club locations around Maine will begin vaccinating those 70 and older that schedule appointments using this easy to navigate website. By these massive retailers stepping up to help, this will allow an additional 4,000 Mainers to be vaccinated each week.

The Walmart and Sam's Club vaccinations are part of a Biden administration rollout to get retail pharmacies around the country to get on board with administering COVID shots. According to Lambrew, the aforementioned website began accepting vaccination appointments on Tuesday night.
