The body of a man who jumped from the Chamberlain Bridge has been recovered from the river.

Has the Man Been Identified?

Maine Marine Patrol officials have identified the man as Christopher Henry, 42, of Bangor. His identity was determined by investigators who found his abandoned vehicle in a parking lot near the bridge, with his identification inside.

Where Was He Found?

On Thursday afternoon, the Maine Marine Patrol recovered Henry's body from the Penobscot River, downriver of the I-395 bridge in Hampden. His body has been transported to a local funeral home.

When Did He Enter the Water?

Members of the Bangor and Brewer Police, Maine Marine Patrol, the Maine Forest Service, and the Maine Underwater Recovery Team have been searching for Henry since June 8th when witnesses saw him jump from the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge. The search has included helicopters, drones, and divers combing the water and the shoreline.
