Boy Scouts Will Pick-Up Your Xmas Trees Curbside In Lewiston
Hard to believe but it's been 10 years in a row that Boy Scout Troop 121 out of Auburn will come pick up your Christmas trees, if you live in Lewiston or Auburn. According to the Sun Journal, Auburn and Lewiston do have several locations that offer free tree disposal, but they do not offer curbside pick up of the trees.
That's where Boy Scout Troop 121 comes in.... you see for a minimum donation of just 5 bucks, Boy Scout Troop 121 will pick up the used Christmas trees on two days, back to back. The pick up is slated for Jan. 8th and 9th. Please note that it is important that you don't place the trees on the street curb until the morning of Jan. 8th.
It's a win-win as all the donations go directly back to the scouts.
If you would like to request a pickup, you need to mail your donations not later than Jan. 6th to:
Troop 121
United Methodist Church
439 Park Ave.
Auburn, ME 04210.
What happens next is that you will receive a tag to place on your tree before you put it out on the curb. You can also get more information by calling the troop at 783-0790.
