Bruins + Celtics Begin 20th Season at TD Garden
This is one of those moments when you wonder how some much time has past, when it feels like it has been just a week. It was 19 years ago today, TD Garden in Boston formally known as the Shawmut then FleetCenter opened for their first event.
Yes, believe it or not the Bruins and Celtics will be starting their 20th seasons this year in the building and the Bruins get underway at home tomorrow night.
You can see the arena plain as day if you go through Boston on I-93 on the Boston side of the Zakim Bridge. Come to think of it, now the 19 years is put into perspective after the remembering the lengthy "The Big Dig."
I’ve driven by TD Garden many times but only been inside once for a Madonna concert on her ‘Drowned World Tour’ with the station back in August of 2001.
Have you ever wondered how long it took the floor crew to transform a rink to a basketball hardwood? The answer is a little under two hours.
For your enjoyment, here is a time lapse video of the Bruins ice becoming a basketball court for the Celtics.
