These Are The Most-Needed Items @ Maine’s Camp Out Hunger
Camp Out Hunger is a large, annual food drive in Augusta, Maine, organized by 92 Moose and B98.5. Our goal, like always, it to support the Capital Region Salvation Army.
The event takes place at the Sam's Club parking lot here in Augusta and is a week-long effort where us Djs camp out on-site to encourage donations of non-perishable food items and monetary support for local families dealing with food insecurity.
In recent years, Maine has been heavily affected by inflation and that has subsequently increased the demand for food, making our 2024 contributions even more critical than ever.
Now in its 6th year, Camp Out Hunger is more than just a boring old food drive. During our week-long event, our audience can enjoy pizza parties, giveaways and, new this year, psychic readings!
Oh, and if you haven't heard, along with our Thursday night pizza party, we will also be featuring 'Camp Out Karaoke' and a live caricature artist as well.
Our location host, Sam's Club, along with several local restaurants also contribute to the cause by providing food and resources to keep Camp Out Hunger running smoothly, with all donations benefiting greater Kennebec County through the work of the Salvation Army.
But when it comes to making those non-perishable food donations, which items are the best to drop off? Well, after a little chat with Capital Region Salvation Army Captain, Keith Davis, we can now tell you what some of the items are that the CRSA are in most need of.
