Chance the Rapper won Best New Artist at the 2017 Grammy Awards tonight (Feb. 12).

The 23-year-old rapper and songwriter beat out a pool of fresh, rising talent which also included Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Maren Morris, and Anderson .Paak.

Chance the Rapper (aka Chancelor Johnathan Bennett) received a total of five nominations at his first Grammy Awards celebration, including a win for Best Rap Performance for the track "No Problem." He also received nominations for Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Best Rap Album.

Hosted by James Corden, the 59th annual Grammy Awards ceremony took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 12, broadcast live on CBS. The 2017 Grammy Awards nominees were announced on December 6, with a tribute performance to Prince.
