Hey if you are looking for something fun to do with the kiddos the next couple of weekends check out the Springtime EGGstravaganza! It's an Easter Egg Hunt that involves a train, a farm ,a museum and a whole lot of fun and adventure for all.

The Springtime Eggspress with SeaLyon Farm is one of my family's favorite "go-to's" this time of year. It's about 2 hours of good times that the whole family can enjoy.

Things start out with a ride on the Wiscasset-Waterville & Farmington Railway. Everyone onboards at Sheepscot Station, which is located at 97 Cross Road in Alna. Be advise is can be a bit muddy so boots are a wise choice and before heading out, a word of advice if you have never been, perhaps print off directions first as Google Maps misses the mark, perhaps the spotty cell service has something to do with it.

The train is a restored narrow gauge steam engine and passenger cars that will take you from Sheepscot Station to Alna Station, once there you'll have about a 1 hour layover and the kids will have 3 fields worth of easter egg hunt to embark on, each field for a specific age group. SeaLyon Farm does an amazing job at putting the hunt together. They will also have some food and a farm stand there too with jams, salsas, and baked goods. Grampa's Kitchen Food Truck will be there with more hearty offerings if you prefer. The return rail trip will take you back where you started and as you leave you will go through the Wiscasset-Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum which I always seem to notice something I've missed before.

This event will be going on for the next two Saturdays, April 3rd & April 10th. The train runs four times each day between 10:30am-4pm. Tickets go fast, so it's best to reserve your times as soon as possible. CLICK HERE to visit their Facebook page.

By the way, they also do a Holiday Express Trail ride around Christmas with Santa and other fun activities so plan ahead!
