Burrito lovers will be super-excite about this: Central Maine is getting another Chipotle!  This new location will be on Center Street in Auburn.

According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, the Mexican fast food chain will go into the old space that was, until March of this year, occupied by a Krispy Kreme donut shop.

I you've never been to a Chipotle, it operates somewhat like a Mexican Subway.  Working your way down the counter you select your food (burrito, bowl, salad, tacos), your protein, beans, other vegetables, cheese, salsa, etc.  Quick, delicious, and affordable.

NAI The Dunham Group, owner of the building at 410 Center Street in Auburn, has been given a construction permit from the city.  The permit, which notes that it is for a Chipotle location, authorizes the removal of partitions and unneeded equipment.

Chipotle Mexican Grill currently has five locations in Maine.  These include Augusta, Bangor, Westbrook, Portland, and South Portland.

At this point, there is no word on when the new location could open.
