Cooper’s Strange Connection To Babe Ruth
Over the weekend, according to the Boston Globe, Julia Ruth Stevens passed away at the age of 102. She was Babe Ruth's last surviving child.
Julia was the daughter of Ruth's second wife, Claire Merritt Hodgson. Shortly after marrying her in 1929, he adopted Julia.
But, how am I connected?
Well, she spent many years living in a farmhouse in Conway, New Hampshire. After leaving the area, the farmhouse was purchased and converted into a series of apartments. For several months in 2006 and 2007, I lived in those apartments.
Yes, it's kind of a stretch, but it DOES connect me to the Sultan of Swat!
