We all know that the cost of raising a child in the State of Maine is insane.  And, clearly, the massive inflation we have been dealing with for the last few years has not helped matters any.

A new bill before the Maine Legislature may help matters a little.

According to WGME, the Maine Legislature's taxation committee has voted to move forward with the bill.  The bill has reportedly been  amended to now include diaper accessories, such as covers and pins.

The exemption would only be on child diapers.

If it goes through, the tax exemption would go into effect in 2024.

The WGME report says that, currently, 22 states do not charge taxes on diapers.
