Here is an interesting tidbit I never knew, thanks to Three Tides bringing it to light, bars aren’t allowed to post the alcohol content of their beers and malt liquors. Why? It’s the law. An old and in most people’s minds it seems an outdated law.

The law was put into place so that you couldn’t advertise that your beer was stronger than another and charge the same price, but still this seems absurd to me. Restaurants put calorie counts on their menus when it comes to dinner. I assume if I’m out and get a draft beer which by the way is very seldom, I always think the content is 5% or there about. Not knowing the alcohol content of your beverage can cause problems I would think if you have a few.

Apparently because of the fervor via social media and others bringing up this controversy, there is a bill headed to Augusta to change this law.
