If you visit the lovely town of Bangor, look to the skies and you will be hit with color and beauty.
Call Mary Poppins because the Umbrella Sky project is currently sitting pretty above your heads on Cross Street in Downtown Bangor. This is not the first time they've done this either!
The wonderous display returns for its second year on Cross Street in downtown Bangor, according to Downtown Bangor.
Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Downtown Bangor Partnership joined forces to present the Umbrella Sky Project. I am so excited that this is something that folks can go and witness.
It's a stellar art installation that welcomes you to ask, “How are You?”
This all began in 2011 as part of the Ágitagueda Art Festival in Águeda, Portugal, the Umbrella Sky Project has since been wowing audiences all around the world with over 170 installations, as per the post.
Take a peak below at the Umbrella installations in the United Kingdom and California.
Isn't it wonderful? This beauty will run from mid-May to mid-October, as per the post.
And they have gone above and beyond this year by adding extra playful elements to the display. They have upside-down umbrella benches and flower planters.
If you are planning on stopping by, make sure if you snap some pics you tag the following #HowAreYouBangor and #UmbrellaSky.
According to Downtown Bangor, Impactplan Art Productions originally created this project and their purpose is to bring "color life, bring color to the gray spaces of the city and make the ones who pass by smile."
So if you are in or around Downtown Bangor, stop by Cross Street and create a magical moment of wonder with your family and share your photos!
