Tomorrow morning there is going to be a solar eclipse but the bad news is, the only way to see it in Maine is live online as it will happen before sunrise and just east of North America. Now for the good news, I have found when the next visible solar eclipse will occur in our neck of the woods.

The next solar eclipse worth mentioning for the US mainland appears to be in just over two years from now on August 21, 2017.

The last total or a near total eclipse I remember was about 30 years ago. I was forewarned not to look at the sun and I think the whole time the eclipse was happening I looked the opposite direction out of fear but it was decades ago. Using Google to look it up, the eclipse I remember so vividly looks like it was on May 30th of 1984.

So, remember mark your calendars for August 21, 2017, the eclipse should roll through mid afternoon in the US.
